Behavioral and Emotional Regulation

At KITES Child Development Centre, we recognize that strong communication skills are essential for emotional regulation and social success. Many challenging behaviors arise when children lack the words or tools to express their needs, feelings, or frustrations.

Our therapy focuses on teaching functional communication strategies that help children replace meltdowns, aggression, or withdrawal with purposeful, understandable expressions. Using evidence-based methods such as Functional Communication Replacement (FCR) Training, Zones of Regulation™, and co-regulation techniques, we guide children in identifying emotions, asking for help, making requests, and advocating for their needs in positive ways.

Sessions incorporate visual supports, social stories, role-play, and real-world practice to ensure skills generalize across home, school, and community environments.

We believe that giving a child the power to communicate their emotions builds resilience, strengthens relationships, and fosters greater independence.
