Peer Interaction and Social Skills Training
At KITES Child Development Centre, we believe that building friendships and navigating social groups are vital parts of every child’s development. Peer interaction skills form the foundation for emotional well-being, self-confidence, and long-term social success.
Our therapy focuses on teaching children how to initiate play, take conversational turns, share, cooperate, problem-solve with peers, and manage social conflicts. Through structured peer group sessions, cooperative games, emotion recognition activities, and guided social problem-solving exercises, children learn to apply communication skills within real-life social settings.
We use techniques such as peer-mediated learning, social stories, video modeling, and role-playing to provide explicit instruction and safe practice opportunities. Sessions are designed to be fun, dynamic, and supportive, allowing children to build trust, develop empathy, and practice flexible thinking during interactions with others.
Our goal is not only to teach social “rules” but to nurture genuine friendships, self-advocacy, and confidence in a variety of social contexts – from playgrounds to classrooms to family gatherings.
We believe that when children learn to connect with others, they find belonging, resilience, and joy in every part of life.
